KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Posting regularly is hard when ideas are scattered and there is no visible plan.
  • Four cards are enough: ideas, this week, in progress and posted.
  • Choose fixed days first, then fill them, and give every draft a next step.
  • Note what worked after each post; the patterns show you what to make next.

You know you should post more. You have ideas, plenty. They're in your notes app, in screenshots, in a draft from three weeks ago. And somehow it's Thursday and you haven't posted since last Friday.

"My ideas live everywhere."

Posting regularly isn't about having more ideas. It's about seeing them, and the week, in one place.

Why is posting regularly so hard?

  • Ideas are scattered, so you start from zero every time
  • There's no plan, so you post when you remember
  • Drafts get stuck halfway, with no next step
  • You can't see the week, so gaps appear without noticing

What does a simple content calendar need?

Four cards:

  • Ideas: every idea, the moment you have it, one line each
  • This week: what goes out on which day
  • In progress: drafts, with the next step
  • Posted: with a short note on how it did

How often should I post?

As often as you can keep up. Two posts a week every week beats seven posts in one week and then nothing.

How do I plan a week of content in 15 minutes?

  1. Look at the ideas card. Pick the ones that fit this week.
  2. Give each one a day.
  3. Write the next step for each. Photo, text, record, edit.
  4. Batch what you can. Take three photos in one go, write two captions in one sitting.

Where do ideas go when I'm not at my desk?

Straight onto the ideas card, on your phone. Walking, in the shop, at 11 pm. One line is enough. You'll flesh it out when you plan the week.

Writing ideas down also stops them circling in your head. More in write it down to stop thinking about it.

How do I learn what works?

On the posted card, add one line per post: what got a reaction, what didn't. After a month, you'll see patterns, and the ideas card fills itself.

Can I share it with a team or a client?

Yes. Share the board, so everyone sees the same week and the same drafts. People you invite to a PAPEPPE board don't pay anything.

Your content calendar setup

Screenshot this:

  • Ideas, this week, in progress, posted
  • Pick the days first, then fill them
  • Every draft gets a next step
  • Ideas go on the card the moment you have them
  • One line per post on what worked
This week, pick two days and put one idea on each. That's your first content calendar.

Questions

How do I make a content calendar?

Keep four lists on one board: ideas, this week with a day per post, in progress with a next step, and posted with a note on how it did.

How often should I post on social media?

As often as you can keep up every week. A steady rhythm matters more than a burst followed by nothing.

How do I plan a week of content quickly?

Pick ideas for the week, give each a day, write the next step for each and batch similar work.

Where should I keep content ideas?

On one ideas list on your phone, so you can add them the moment they come up.

Can a team share a content calendar?

Yes. Share the board so everyone sees the same week and drafts. People you invite to a PAPEPPE board do not pay anything.
